Psalms for the Undertow

The continents have slipped beneath the waves. All that remains above the waterline is one windswept lighthouse, a damp cellar full of modest provisions, and its keeper: you. Surrounded by the waters of a drowned world, you go about your daily routine: tend the lighthouse and make sure the light stays lit (even though no one will see it), send radio transmissions (even though no one will hear them), and keep yourself alive (even though, inevitably, you will die).

Loosely inspired by the audio drama Gospels of the Flood and old keepers' logs from various lighthouses on the Northeastern seaboard, Psalms for the Undertow is a solo game about the end of the world that uses blend of audio journaling and single sentence "keeper's log" entries to form the artifact of play and document your experience. Designed for brevity, each core loop can be played in 15-30 minute increments at a pace of the player's choosing.

If you're a fan of liminal horror and evocative, elegiac stories, Psalms of the Undertow was written for you.

NOTE: This game is currently in its early dev draft stages, when I'm concentrating on seeking reader feedback on the text itself. It is likely to undergo heavy changes as I move through the development process, and has not yet been edited for syntax, errata, or design. As such the draft is currently Pay What You Want. Members of the Dirtgoblin Community Center at the Seed level and up will get a layout and art test PDF later tonight (6/16).
